This conference table presented some really fun aesthetics. The client liked the void in the table but wanted to make sure that it was still useable as a workspace. They loved the idea of a glass insert so we created a custom template based on the shape of the void and then cut a custom piece of glass to give a perfect fit into the table.
It is supported by a large steel base which is powder coated a clean matte black. We installed recessed "c" channel steel supports to help keep the table flat. This is important because even in a climate controlled room, wood wants to move and warp throughout different seasonal weather changes. The client choose not to have us install any av boxes as they wanted the top to stay natural. We were happy with that decision.
Our hope is that the size and natural beauty of this table inspires the people who sit around it to do their best work. It certainly inspired us to do ours.
