It was a huge privilege that we were given the opportunity to work on a table of this magnitude. This conference table is a single live edge slab that is 18 feet long and over 60" wide in some places. The shipping, delivery and logistics challenges of moving something this size is almost as challenging as working on the table itself. But we love challenges here and were thrilled to see it in its final resting place.
It is supported by a large steel base which is powder coated a clean matte black. We installed recessed "c" channel steel supports to help keep the table flat. This is important because even in a climate controlled room, wood wants to move and warp throughout different seasonal weather changes. The client choose not to have us install any av boxes as they wanted the top to stay natural. We were happy with that decision.
Our hope is that the size and natural beauty of this table inspires the people who sit around it to do their best work. It certainly inspired us to do ours.
